We understand that your bike is a prized possession and leaving it unattended, even when secured, can be risky. Scout provides unparalleled Bike security by combining both an extremely loud 85db bike alarm function with a highly accurate bike finder, using Apple’s ‘Find My’ app. The future of bike security is here. Once armed, any movement of a Scout fitted Bike will trigger the motion-sensitive audio alarm discouraging any further movement and alerting the bike’s owner, both by the sound of the alarm and via a notification that is automatically sent to the owner’s iPhone (when in Bluetooth range).
Then in a scenario where a bike fitted with Scout is not where the owner has left it, it can be quickly located using Apple’s network via the ‘Find My’ app.
Dual Function LEDs:
- Scout feature’s dual function LEDs that show at a glance if the Scout is alarmed. The same LEDs display the charge status of the battery.
Arming Scout Is Quick & Easy:
- Arming or disarming the Scout alarm is made simple and can be achieved in two ways; via the button on the side of the device when the connected iPhone is in close proximity (< 1.5 m) or via the Knog app when the device is within Bluetooth range.
Mounting & Securing:
- With Scout, there’s the choice of overt or discreet security. To advertise that the bike is fitted with Scout, simply use the neon yellow silicone cover provided. For more discreet security, attach Scout to the bike via the bottle cage mounts using tamper-proof security screws without the cover.
Mounting With A Bottle Cage:
- Scout’s extremely low profile and compact design allows for it to be neatly bolted and hidden underneath a bottle cage. This is a great way to keep Scout hidden.

Attached to a water bottle holder without any worries, the iOS app sometimes has difficulty finding the "connected" status via Bluetooth. Result, it rings in the garage, in the street when I take the bike, trying to turn it off with the button. The material seems very professional and durable. The screw has a particular shape but I think we can find something to unscrew it if really. The sound can attract the attention of people around, which is its purpose. The packaging, I love it. It shows the team’s care for their product.

Assembly is very simple, including activating and connecting to the phone. Direct range is limited, I still have to test how this works in practice if the phone is no longer directly connected to the Knog. One thing is certain, when the alarm goes off, everyone in the area will hear it.

A bulge protrudes from the back but it can be mounted, with some imagination, upside down or upside down. In my case I have not been able to put it in the bottle rack because it does not fit, the bottle sticks on top. I have mounted it in another discreet place. At the end of the day, as soon as they touch the bike, it alerts you to your mobile and even if they try to remove it, take it off or whatever you have, it's already ringing and you go. It can be perfectly attached to a chainstay or any part of the frame with adhesive, cable ties, etc. The range is not very long if there are walls in the way, but if you are inside a bar and the bike is outside near the wall, there is a signal.

What is the distance between the holes and what type of screw is used to fix it on the bottle holder. I want to know if it is compatible with my bike.

I cannot provide this answer. HOWEVER this is something standardized. Unless you have a very old bike this shouldn´t be a problem.

Hello, The spacing is standard around 6.5 cm and fits all bikes. I fixed it with the special screws and the key provided, very easy to assemble. It is a practical and inexpensive deterrent alarm. Good assembly.

The KNOG Scout uses Apple´s Airtag technology so it is only compatible with iOS. I´m currently not aware of any bike-SPECIFIC items like the Scout that work with both Android and iOS systems.
