Great for bikepacking

Effectively raises the cockpit... it is heavy, but sturdy. I stand straighter without having the handlebars too far away as is often the case with stems that are so raised.

I've been having ,upper back/neck issues for a while now, so, in the hope this may help, along with 40mm riser bars, I had a crack at the Ergotec High Bass stem. The build quality seems very good, I'd say it's quite a solid unit that would work for enduro riding if the very high front end works for you. The only issue was that I had to machine down a headset spacer to fit on top of the stem, only an issue if you run one on top, a 5 minute job with basic tools. Initial results, on a highly modified '22 Giant Trance E+ (only frame and motor are stock) running 180mm Zeb's, in my position with my body issues, it works very well with an effective 40mm up and 40mm out. Your results may vary wildly from mine, but, on my particular bike, with the incredibly long rear triangle, it seems a good match.
