Would the size 31.8 mm fit my seat post, which indicates that its diameter is 30.8 mm? that is, one mm less.

Hello, I did not have this problem because the diameter listed on the saddle base was 34.9 mm, included in the options. That said, I think that 1 mm of tolerance is doable: I just did the test with the collar that I removed. And if I look at mine, I see that there is still some tightening margin. Here´s what I can tell you ;-)

The clamp has two diameters inside, the largest one is to fit into your bicycle body and the other smaller diameter is the one that will tighten the seatpost.

What you need to look at is the frame tube, not the seat post.

The measurement is correct. My seat post is also 30.8 in diameter. I bought the 31.8. Good day
