A tread pattern designed to handle modern XC courses: from man-made obstacles to natural terrain and from hardpack to loose conditions.
The Scorpion™ XC RC is designed for the racer who seeks the best performance in all racing conditions while pushing beyond their limits.
The Scorpion™ XC RC tread pattern has been designed together with XCO World Cup athletes: low profile, thick central knobs offer minimal rolling resistance while higher lateral knobs allow fast cornering control. A tread design with no compromises.
SmartGRIP Compound is an advanced compound developed using motorsport experience. The single compound provides constant high grip performance both in wet and dry conditions, even when the tread starts to wear.
All tyres available in LITE version are dedicated to maximum rolling efficiency and suppleness: using a lighter carcass to increase speed and riding feel.
ProWALL sidewall reinforcement technology increases puncture protection and improves handling at low pressures. An additional layer of Nylon fabric is applied over the casing sidewalls for extra protection and improved cornering stability.

The best XC-Marathon tire. 693 grams in 2.40 Prowall. Not even the famous Aspen 2.40 reaches those weights in the 2.40 EXO model.

For me the best wheel in terms of cornering grip, speed and retention. Comparing it to the Maxxis Aspen EXO 2.40, the Pirelli Scorpion XC RC Prorall 2.40 does the same, even better, in addition to weighing 693 grams. The Aspen is around 770 grams.

I've been racing and riding xc for 23 yrs, using many brands of tires. Yesterday I rode the Pirelli Scorpion 2.4 pro wall on my local trail for the first time . I ran my air pressure at 13 psi for the front and 14 psi in the rear. There was a verity of trail conditions due to recent rain and leaf coverage. Some spots had wet conditions yet while other elevated sections were dry. This tire worked incredibly well in all of it. After my initial 11 mile lap I had total confidence it the tries incredible grip and consistency. I rode two more laps with total confidence. It's a fast tire that spins up quickly.

The Pirelli Scorpion is a great XC tyre rolls fast plenty of grip I have only used it in dry conditions so far but over hard pack and loose over hard and grass it rolls fast and provides good levels of grip.

The tyre is tubeless ready!! Cubierta Pirelli Scorpion XC RC Team Edition - SmartGRIP - ProWALL - 120 TPI - Tubeless Ready 29x2.40. For easy mounting, it allows you to ride at lower pressure, with greater comfort, grip and traction and also improve puncture resistance. Don't forget to use tubeless fluid, valves and tubeless rim tape. Of course it can also be used with a 29" tube.
